The Visiting Teacher’s Programme exists to provide educational and international immersion experiences for teachers from developing nations and the United States in hope that inter-cultural dialogue and critical reflection of practice will transfer to the classroom and create dynamic educational opportunities for young people.
Through international immersion, cultural differences come alive and understanding between people-groups is intensified. Returning to their home schools, teachers transfer newly gained cultural insights to daily lessons.
Teachers and students at the host school also benefit from the exchange. Students and teachers use this opportunity to pose questions about the visiting teachers’ home culture. Because this is a learning experience for all involved, no question is off limits. Even personal questions are willingly answered for the sake of education.
